Synopsis/Plot
Batteries Not Included is a 1987 science fiction comedy-drama directed by Matthew Robbins. The film stars Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy as Frank and Faye Riley, an elderly couple who own a small apartment building in New York City. The building is threatened with demolition by a ruthless developer, and the tenants are desperate to save it.
When all hope seems lost, a group of mysterious flying robots arrive and begin to fix up the building. The robots, known as “The Fix-Its,” are sent from an unknown source to help the tenants. With the help of the robots, the tenants are able to save their building.
The movie follows the tenants as they learn to work together to save their home. Along the way, they must face challenges such as a gang of thugs, a powerful corporation, and a mysterious force that is intent on destroying the building.
The movie is a heartwarming story of friendship, loyalty, and courage in the face of adversity. It is filled with humor, adventure, and a strong message about the power of working together.
