Synopsis – What to Expect from “Dick Tracy”
Dick Tracy is a 1990 American action crime comedy film based on the comic strip character of the same name created by Chester Gould. The film stars Warren Beatty as the title character and features an all-star cast including Madonna, Al Pacino, Dustin Hoffman, and Charlie Korsmo.
The story follows the titular detective, Dick Tracy, as he attempts to bring down the crime boss, Big Boy Caprice, and his gang of criminals. With the help of his long-time partner, Pat Patton, and a new rookie detective, Breathless Mahoney, Tracy sets out to capture the criminals and restore law and order to the city.
The film begins with Tracy and Patton chasing a group of criminals. After a brief shootout, the criminals escape and Tracy is left with a mysterious clue. He follows the clue and discovers that Big Boy Caprice is the mastermind behind the criminal activities in the city. Tracy then sets out to capture Big Boy and his gang.
Meanwhile, Breathless Mahoney, a former nightclub singer, is hired by Big Boy to seduce Tracy and distract him from his investigation. At the same time, Tracy’s old flame Tess Trueheart returns to the city and is soon kidnapped by Big Boy’s gang.
Tracy and Patton are able to rescue Tess and apprehend the criminals, but Big Boy escapes. Tracy and Breathless then team up to capture Big Boy and put an end to his criminal activities.
