Synopsis – What to Expect from “Midnight Run”
Midnight Run is a 1988 American action comedy film starring Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin. The film follows bounty hunter Jack Walsh (De Niro) as he is hired by mob boss Jimmy Serrano (Joe Pantoliano) to bring back his accountant, Jonathan “The Duke” Mardukas (Grodin). Mardukas had stolen $15 million from Serrano and is now on the run.
Jack is given five days to bring Mardukas back to Los Angeles, and is offered a $100,000 reward if he succeeds. Jack takes the job, but quickly finds out that it won’t be as easy as he thought. He is pursued by FBI agents Alonzo Mosely (Yaphet Kotto) and Eddie Moscone (John Ashton), who are determined to bring Mardukas in first.
Jack and Mardukas make their way across the country, with Jack trying to keep Mardukas one step ahead of the FBI and Serrano’s henchmen. Along the way, they form an unlikely friendship, with Mardukas teaching Jack to appreciate the simple things in life.
At the end of their journey, Jack and Mardukas find themselves in a high-speed chase with the FBI, Serrano’s henchmen, and even a helicopter. In the end, Jack manages to outwit them all and deliver Mardukas to the
