Synopsis/Plot
Youngblood is a 1986 sports drama film starring Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze, Cynthia Gibb, and Keanu Reeves. It follows Dean Youngblood (Rob Lowe), a young hockey player who is determined to make it to the NHL. After being cut from the Junior A team in Canada, Dean moves to the small town of Sault Ste. Marie to play for the Hawks, a local Junior B team.
Led by Coach Harlow (Ed Lauter), the Hawks are a rag-tag group of players who have little hope of making it to the big leagues. Dean’s arrival brings a new energy to the team and they soon become contenders for the championship. Along the way, Dean must deal with the pressures of being the new star player, the team’s rivalry with their arch-enemies, the Hamilton Mustangs, and the growing attraction between him and his teammate, Jessie (Cynthia Gibb).
