Synopsis/Plot

Couples Retreat is a 2009 American romantic comedy film directed by Peter Billingsley and written by Jon Favreau, Vince Vaughn, and Dana Fox. It stars Vaughn and Favreau, along with Jason Bateman, Faizon Love, Kristin Davis, Malin Akerman, Kristen Bell, and Jean Reno. The film follows four couples who partake in therapy sessions at a tropical island resort.

The movie begins with Dave (Vaughn) and Ronnie (Davis) who are struggling to keep their marriage alive. Dave’s best friend, Jason (Bateman) and his wife Cynthia (Bell) are also having marital issues. Joey (Love) and his wife Lucy (Akerman) are looking to spice up their marriage, while Shane (Favreau) and his wife Trudy (Reno) are trying to save their marriage.

When Dave and Ronnie learn of a couples retreat at a tropical island resort, they decide to invite their friends to join them. Despite their initial reluctance, the four couples agree to attend the retreat and embark on a week-long journey of self-discovery and therapy.
