Synopsis/Plot
The Ugly Truth is a romantic comedy film released in 2009 that stars Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler. The story follows Abby Richter, a successful morning show producer who is focused on her career and has little time for love. After her show’s ratings start to drop, her boss hires Mike Chadway, a crass, chauvinistic, and controversial host to bring back the ratings. Despite their initial animosity, Abby and Mike eventually realize that they have more in common than they think.
As they work together, Abby discovers that Mike is actually an expert on relationships and his advice helps her to find a connection with the man of her dreams. However, Abby soon realizes that Mike’s advice is not always reliable and that she has to rely on her own instincts.
