Synopsis/Plot
Four Christmases is a 2008 Christmas-themed romantic comedy film starring Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon. It follows Brad and Kate, a couple who must visit all four of their divorced parents’ homes on Christmas Day.
Brad and Kate have been together for years, but have been successfully avoiding their families at Christmas by going on vacation. However, when a fog cancels their flight, they are forced to spend the holiday with their respective families.
The couple’s first stop is Brad’s father’s house, where Brad’s father has remarried and has a new family. Brad’s mother is remarried to a much younger man, and they have a baby. Brad’s mother and stepfather are also very religious, and Brad’s father is not. At his mother’s house, Brad and Kate meet her new husband and his son from a previous marriage.
The couple’s second stop is Kate’s father’s house, where Kate’s father is married to a much younger woman. Kate’s father is a wealthy businessman, and his house is very lavish. Kate’s stepmother is very controlling, and she does not approve of Brad.
