Synopsis/Plot
Rat Race is a 2001 American comedy film directed by Jerry Zucker. The movie follows six teams of people who are competing for two million dollars in a race from Las Vegas to Silver City, New Mexico.
The movie stars an ensemble cast including Rowan Atkinson, John Cleese, Cuba Gooding Jr., Seth Green, Whoopi Goldberg, Jon Lovitz, Breckin Meyer, Kathy Najimy, Amy Smart, Lanai Chapman, Wayne Knight, Dave Thomas, and Dean Cain.
The teams are given a map to Silver City and are told that the first team to arrive will receive the two million dollars. The teams quickly realize that there are no rules and begin to take advantage of each other in order to get to Silver City first.
The teams are made up of a variety of characters, including a pair of bickering couples, a group of Vegas showgirls, and a team of eccentric old ladies. As the teams travel across the country, they encounter a variety of obstacles, including a biker gang, a runaway train, and a group of cowboys.
The movie is filled with plenty of laughs and outrageous situations as the teams race to be the first to Silver City.
