Synopsis/Plot
The Wedding Singer is a 1998 romantic comedy starring Adam Sandler, Drew Barrymore, and Christine Taylor. It is set in 1985 and follows the story of Robbie Hart, a wedding singer who is dumped by his fiancée on their wedding day. Heartbroken, he quickly spirals into a depression and takes to drinking heavily.
Meanwhile, Julia, a young waitress and waitress-for-hire, is about to marry a wealthy businessman, but she is not in love with him. When Robbie and Julia meet, they instantly hit it off and a friendship develops. As Robbie helps Julia plan her wedding, he slowly begins to fall for her and they come to realize that they are meant to be together.
The movie follows Robbie and Julia on their journey to find true love. Along the way, they have to deal with a variety of obstacles, including Robbie’s ex-fiancée, who is determined to win him back, and Julia’s fiancé, who is determined to keep them apart. In the end, Robbie and Julia must overcome all of these obstacles and find a way to be together.
