Synopsis/Plot
The Waterboy is a 1998 American sports comedy film starring Adam Sandler. It follows the story of Bobby Boucher, a socially inept waterboy for a college football team who discovers he has a talent for tackling. After being recruited by a struggling football team, Bobby is able to lead them to the championships while also learning to stand up for himself and find love.
The movie begins with Bobby Boucher, a socially awkward and clumsy waterboy for the University of Louisiana’s football team. He is constantly teased and ridiculed by the football players and coaches. When Bobby is fired for his poor performance, he is hired by the South Central Louisiana State University Mud Dogs, a struggling football team. Bobby’s coach, Red Beaulieu, helps him to uncover his talent for tackling and Bobby soon leads the team to success.
Meanwhile, Bobby begins to develop a romantic relationship with Vicki Vallencourt, a cheerleader for the Mud Dogs. With her help, he finally learns to stand up for himself and take control of his life.
