Synopsis – What to Expect from “Ashby”
Ashby is a 2015 American comedy-drama film directed by Tony McNamara and starring Mickey Rourke, Nat Wolff, Emma Roberts, and Sarah Silverman.
The film tells the story of Ed Wallis, a high school senior who is struggling to find his place in the world. After Ed’s father dies, he moves in with his grandmother and meets a mysterious neighbor, Ashby Holt. Ashby is a former CIA assassin who is trying to make amends for his past by mentoring Ed.
Ed quickly discovers that Ashby is terminally ill and only has a few months to live. Despite this, Ed and Ashby become close friends and Ashby begins to teach Ed the lessons he needs to become a better person. Ed learns how to stand up for himself and be more confident.
