Synopsis – What to Expect from “Smiley Face”
Smiley Face is a 2007 comedy film starring Anna Faris as Jane F. Harrison, a struggling actress who accidentally eats an entire batch of marijuana-laced cupcakes. After spending her day trying to get her life back in order, Jane finds herself in increasingly hilarious and outrageous situations.
The movie opens with Jane waking up late for an audition. She quickly makes a cup of coffee, not knowing that her roommate has added marijuana to the pot. Jane drinks the coffee and soon finds herself in a state of euphoria. She then decides to make a batch of cupcakes, not knowing that her roommate has also added marijuana to the batter. Jane eats all the cupcakes and soon finds herself in a state of extreme intoxication.
Jane then sets out on a wild journey throughout the city, trying to get her life back in order. She visits her bank to withdraw money for her rent, but instead of money she is given a giant fish. She then visits her agent, but instead of a job offer she is given a pet ferret. She then visits her landlord to pay her rent, but instead of money she is given a bag of weed.
Throughout her journey, Jane finds herself in increasingly outrageous and hilarious situations. She gets arrested for public intoxication, gets into a fight with a street performer, and accidentally joins a cult. Eventually, Jane manages to get her life back in order and learns an important lesson about responsibility.
