Synopsis/Plot
The Princess Bride is a classic fantasy adventure comedy film released in 1987. The story follows the journey of a young farmhand, Westley, as he embarks on a quest to rescue his beloved, Princess Buttercup, from the clutches of the evil Prince Humperdinck. Along the way, Westley and his companions encounter a variety of colorful and eccentric characters, including a skilled swordsman, an evil wizard, a giant, a Sicilian criminal, and a mysterious man in black. The Princess Bride is filled with plenty of action, adventure, comedy, and romance, making it a timeless classic.
The movie begins with a young boy, Fred Savage, being read the story of The Princess Bride by his grandfather, played by Peter Falk. The story follows Westley, played by Cary Elwes, as he leaves his beloved Buttercup, played by Robin Wright, to seek his fortune. After being captured by the Dread Pirate Roberts, Westley is rescued by a mysterious man in black, played by Mandy Patinkin. With the help of the man in black, Westley sets off on a journey to rescue Buttercup from Prince Humperdinck, played by Chris Sarandon.
