Synopsis/Plot

Alexander is a 2004 epic historical drama film based on the life of the ancient Macedonian general and king, Alexander the Great. Directed by Oliver Stone, the film stars Colin Farrell as Alexander, Anthony Hopkins as his father, King Philip II of Macedon, and Angelina Jolie as his mother, Olympias.

The story follows the life of Alexander from his childhood, when he is tutored by Aristotle, to his death. It portrays his relationships with his parents, his wife Roxane, and his close friend and general, Hephaestion. The film also chronicles his military conquests across Asia and the Middle East, and his eventual death at the age of 32.

The film is visually stunning, with sweeping shots of the ancient world, and action sequences depicting the battles Alexander fought. The score, composed by Vangelis, is also a highlight of the movie.

The performances of the cast are also noteworthy. Colin Farrell delivers a powerful performance as Alexander, and Angelina Jolie is captivating as his mother, Olympias. Anthony Hopkins is also excellent as King Philip II.

All in all, Alexander is an impressive and entertaining film that captures the life of one of history
