Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Recruit”
The Recruit is a 2003 American spy thriller film directed by Roger Donaldson and starring Al Pacino and Colin Farrell.
The story follows James Clayton (Farrell), a young computer engineer who is recruited by Walter Burke (Pacino), a senior Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officer, to join the Agency. Clayton is sent to a CIA training facility where he is trained in espionage and counter-intelligence. He is pitted against a fellow recruit, Layla Moore (Bridget Moynahan), whom he eventually falls in love with.
Clayton is sent on a mission to infiltrate a technology company, Eion Corporation, which is suspected of selling secrets to a foreign power. During the mission, he discovers a conspiracy within the CIA and discovers that his mentor, Burke, is the mastermind behind the scheme. Clayton must now race against time to stop the conspiracy and save the world.
