Synopsis/Plot
Valkyrie is a 2008 historical thriller directed by Bryan Singer and starring Tom Cruise. The film is based on the true story of Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg and his daring attempt to assassinate Hitler during World War II.
Colonel von Stauffenberg is a German army officer, a decorated war veteran, and a member of the German resistance. After being wounded in battle, he returns home to Germany and finds that the Nazi regime has taken control of the country. He joins the resistance and devises a daring plan to kill Hitler. He recruits a group of like-minded officers to help him carry out the plan, code-named “Operation Valkyrie”.
The plan involves von Stauffenberg and his team infiltrating Hitler’s headquarters and planting a bomb in a briefcase. However, the plan is complicated by the fact that Hitler is heavily guarded and that the Nazi regime has instituted a system of security checks that must be passed before anyone can gain access to him.
Valkyrie follows von Stauffenberg and his team as they attempt to carry out their mission. The film is a tense and suspenseful thriller, as the team must battle against time, Hitler’s security measures, and their own doubts
