Synopsis – What to Expect from “Going Overboard”

Going Overboard is a 1989 comedy starring Adam Sandler in his first feature-length film role. The film follows a cruise ship waiter named Shecky Moskowitz (Sandler) who dreams of becoming a stand-up comedian.

Shecky is desperate for a break and when he meets a talent scout, he is given the chance to perform on a cruise ship. Shecky jumps at the chance but soon realizes that the audience on the cruise ship is not the most receptive. Despite this, Shecky perseveres and even meets the beautiful daughter of the ship’s captain, who is played by Burt Young.

Things take a turn for the worse when Shecky is framed for a theft on the ship and is thrown in jail. With the help of his new friends, Shecky is able to escape and prove his innocence. In the end, Shecky is able to make a name for himself as a stand-up comedian and finally win the heart of the captain’s daughter.

Going Overboard is a heartwarming comedy filled with laughs and adventure. It is a story of courage and perseverance, and ultimately of a young man who is determined to make his dreams come true.
