Synopsis – What to Expect from “Modigliani”

Modigliani is a romantic biopic set in the early 1900s in Paris, France. It tells the story of the artist Amedeo Modigliani and his passionate love affair with the beautiful and free-spirited Jeanne Hebuterne.

The film begins with Modigliani arriving in Paris from Italy with the intention of making a name for himself as an artist. He soon meets the wealthy art dealer Paul Guillaume, who agrees to help him launch his career. Modigliani quickly becomes a well-known figure in the Parisian art scene, but his lifestyle of drinking and partying takes its toll on his health.

At a cafe one night, Modigliani meets Jeanne Hebuterne, a young art student. The two quickly fall in love, and Jeanne moves in with Modigliani. Despite the disapproval of her family, the couple is blissfully happy. However, Modigliani’s health continues to decline, and the couple is soon on the brink of poverty.

Desperate to support his family, Modigliani attempts to sell his paintings, but he is met with little success. Despite his failing health, Modigliani continues to paint and is eventually offered a solo exhibition at the prestigious Galerie Berthe Weill.
