Synopsis/Plot
Robin Hood: Men in Tights is a 1993 comedy film directed by Mel Brooks and starring Cary Elwes, Richard Lewis, and Roger Rees. It is a parody of the classic Robin Hood story, set in a modern-day version of Sherwood Forest, where Robin Hood (Elwes) and his band of Merry Men fight against the evil Sheriff of Rottingham (Rees). The film follows Robin and his men as they battle the Sheriff, who is determined to take Maid Marian (Amy Yasbeck) away from Robin and marry her himself. Along the way, Robin and his men enlist the help of a blind monk (Dave Chappelle), a Jewish minstrel (Tracey Ullman), and a cross-dressing Prince John (Patrick Stewart). With their help, Robin and his men ultimately succeed in defeating the Sheriff and restoring justice to Sherwood Forest. The film is full of physical comedy, slapstick gags, and witty dialogue, making it a hilarious and entertaining romp through the classic Robin Hood story.
