Synopsis – What to Expect from “Ride”
Ride is a 2014 drama film directed by Helen Hunt and written by Eric Eason. It follows the story of a young man named Jim (Brenton Thwaites) who is struggling to find his place in the world.
When Jim’s father (Bruce Greenwood) dies, he is sent to live with his mother’s (Helen Hunt) estranged brother, Jack (Richard Kind), in Los Angeles. Jack is a former stuntman and current limo driver, and he introduces Jim to the world of stunt driving.
Jim quickly finds himself in over his head, as Jack’s business partner, a shady character named Frank (David Zayas), is involved in some dangerous activities. Jim is drawn into the world of illegal street racing and soon finds himself in a race against time to save his family and his own life.
When Frank’s activities put Jim’s life in danger, he must rely on his street racing skills and his newfound friends to help him survive. With the help of his new friends, Jim must race for his life and find his way out of the dangerous world of illegal street racing.
Ride is an action-packed, thrilling ride full of fast cars, high stakes, and intense drama. It is a story of self-discovery and the power of friendship, as Jim learns to find his place in the world and discovers that he is capable of more than he ever imagined.
