Synopsis – What to Expect from “In the Army Now”
In the Army Now is a 1994 American comedy film directed by Daniel Petrie and starring Pauly Shore, Andy Dick, and Lori Petty. The plot follows two best friends, Bones Conway (Shore) and Jack Kaufman (Dick), who are hired by the U.S. Army to work as supply clerks. The two are excited to join the Army, but soon find out that it is not as glamorous as they had thought.
The two quickly become disillusioned with the Army and begin to slack off, which gets them in trouble with their commanding officer. Bones and Jack then find themselves on a mission to the Middle East to help out a small village that is under siege from an oppressive force. Despite their lack of training, the two manage to save the village and prove themselves to be true heroes.
Back in the United States, Bones and Jack are promoted to the rank of sergeant and are sent on a mission to the Caribbean to help out a group of stranded Marines. Despite their lack of knowledge and training, the two manage to save the Marines and prove themselves to be true heroes once again.
In the end, Bones and Jack realize that the Army has given them the opportunity to be heroes and to do something that matters. They also learn the importance of teamwork and the value of friendship.
