Synopsis – What to Expect from “Son in Law”
Son in Law is a 1993 American romantic comedy film starring Pauly Shore and Carla Gugino. The film follows Rebecca Warner (Gugino), a college student from a conservative rural town, as she meets Crawl (Shore), a wild and crazy party animal from the city. After a wild weekend together, Rebecca decides to bring Crawl home for the Thanksgiving holiday to meet her family.
Rebecca’s family is shocked to see Crawl, a complete opposite of their traditional values. Crawl tries his best to fit in, but his antics and wild behavior soon put him at odds with Rebecca’s strict father, Walt (Dennis Burkley). Despite Crawl’s best efforts, Walt is determined to keep him away from Rebecca.
Meanwhile, Crawl begins to fall for Rebecca, and she begins to warm up to him. With the help of his wacky friends, Crawl attempts to win over Walt and prove that he is worthy of Rebecca’s affections.
When Walt discovers that Rebecca and Crawl are planning to elope, he decides to take matters into his own hands and prevent the marriage. As the two young lovers battle against Walt’s interference, they must also face some of life’s hard truths and learn to accept each other for who they are.
