Synopsis – What to Expect from “6 Balloons”
6 Balloons is a 2018 American drama film directed by Marja-Lewis Ryan and starring Abbi Jacobson, Dave Franco, Charlotte Carel, and Jane Kaczmarek. The film follows Katie (Jacobson), a woman who must confront her past traumas when her brother Seth (Franco) shows up at her door with his two-year-old daughter, Ella, and a heroin addiction.
Katie and Seth grew up together in a loving home, but in recent years, Seth has been struggling with addiction and has been in and out of rehab. Katie is now married and has a daughter, and her life is seemingly on track. When Seth shows up at her door with Ella, Katie is forced to confront her own past trauma and the guilt she feels for not being able to help her brother.
Katie and Seth set out on a road trip to find a detox center that will take Seth in. Along the way, Katie is forced to confront her own feelings of guilt and shame, as well as her fear of losing her brother. As the road trip progresses, Katie and Seth come to terms with their pasts and the pain they have caused each other.
The film culminates in a powerful and emotional climax as Katie and Seth confront their pasts and come to terms with their current situation. In the end, the two find a way to move forward and come to terms with their new reality. 6 Ball
