Synopsis – What to Expect from “Zorro, The Gay Blade”
Zorro, The Gay Blade is a 1981 comedy film starring George Hamilton as Don Diego de la Vega and his twin brother, Ramon. The film follows Don Diego, a dashing swordsman and defender of the oppressed, as he takes on the corrupt Spanish governor of California.
When Don Diego’s father dies, he is forced to take up the mantle of Zorro and fight for justice. But when he falls off his horse and breaks his leg, his twin brother Ramon, a flamboyant and effeminate dandy, must step in. Though Ramon is initially hesitant, he eventually takes up the role of Zorro and proves to be a formidable fighter and a worthy successor to the legendary hero.
Ramon must face off against the governor’s ruthless henchmen, including the villainous Captain Esteban and his beautiful daughter, Lolita. He also must contend with the governor’s plans to raise taxes and oppress the people.
With the help of his loyal servant, Bernardo, and a group of brave citizens, Ramon is able to outwit the governor and his henchmen. In the end, Ramon is able to save the people and restore justice to California.
