Synopsis/Plot
Wonder Woman is a 2017 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. It is the fourth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film is directed by Patty Jenkins, with a screenplay by Allan Heinberg, from a story by Heinberg, Zack Snyder, and Jason Fuchs. It stars Gal Gadot in the title role, alongside Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Connie Nielsen, and Elena Anaya.
The film tells the story of Diana Prince, an Amazon princess who leaves her home island of Themyscira to explore the world and becomes one of the world’s greatest heroes. During World War I, Diana meets Steve Trevor, an American pilot who tells her about the ongoing war. Diana then leaves her home to join the fight against the war. As she embarks on her journey, she discovers her true powers and destiny.
The film received positive reviews, with praise for its direction, screenplay, acting, visuals, action sequences, and musical score. It grossed over $821 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing film directed by a woman, as well as the highest-grossing film of 2017.
