Synopsis/Plot
Wonder Wheel is a 2017 American drama film written and directed by Woody Allen. Set in 1950s Coney Island, the film stars Kate Winslet, Jim Belushi, Juno Temple, and Justin Timberlake.
Wonder Wheel tells the story of Ginny, a middle-aged woman who works as a waitress in a clam house on Coney Island. She is married to Humpty, an irresponsible carousel operator, and they have a young son named Richie. Ginny’s life is thrown into chaos when Humpty’s estranged daughter Carolina arrives on the scene and takes up residence in their apartment. Carolina is on the run from her mobster husband, and Ginny soon finds herself caught in a love triangle with Carolina and her former flame, a lifeguard named Mickey.
The film follows the characters as they struggle to come to terms with their pasts and find a way to move forward in their lives. Along the way, they discover that the Wonder Wheel, the iconic Ferris wheel on Coney Island, is a symbol of hope and a reminder that life can be full of surprises.
