Synopsis/Plot
Winter’s Tale is a 2014 fantasy drama film directed by Akiva Goldsman, based on the 1983 novel of the same name by Mark Helprin. The film stars Colin Farrell, Jessica Brown Findlay, Russell Crowe, William Hurt, Eva Marie Saint, Jennifer Connelly, and Will Smith.
The film tells the story of Peter Lake (Farrell), a thief from the early 20th century who finds himself in a magical battle between good and evil. After breaking into a mansion, Peter meets the beautiful and mysterious Beverly Penn (Findlay), and the two quickly fall in love. However, their love is threatened by the sinister forces of the demon Pearly Soames (Crowe), who is determined to take Beverly away from Peter.
To save Beverly, Peter must enlist the help of a mysterious group of supernatural beings known as the “Settling of the Sun” and travel through time to the present day. Along the way, he discovers the power of true love and the strength of the human spirit.
