Synopsis/Plot
Winchester is a supernatural horror film released in 2018 and directed by Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig. The film stars Helen Mirren as Sarah Winchester, the widow of gun magnate William Winchester, and Jason Clarke as Dr. Eric Price, a doctor who is sent to the Winchester Mystery House to evaluate Sarah’s mental state.
The story takes place in 1906, and Sarah has been living in the Winchester Mystery House for the past twenty years. The house is a sprawling mansion with hundreds of rooms, staircases that lead nowhere, and secret passageways. The house is believed to be haunted by the souls of those killed by Winchester rifles, and Sarah’s family believes that she is building the house to keep the ghosts at bay.
Dr. Price is sent to the house to evaluate Sarah and determine if she is mentally fit to manage her own affairs. He soon discovers that the house is filled with spirits and the only way to keep them at bay is to keep building. As Dr. Price and Sarah work together to uncover the secrets behind the house, they must also battle the supernatural forces that threaten to consume them.
