Synopsis/Plot
Wimbledon is a romantic comedy film released in 2004 and directed by Richard Loncraine. The film stars Paul Bettany and Kirsten Dunst as two professional tennis players, Peter Colt and Lizzie Bradbury. Peter is a British tennis pro who has been playing on the tour for 11 years but has never won a major tournament. His career is winding down and he is about to retire when he meets Lizzie, a rising star on the tour. The two quickly become friends and Peter finds himself falling for her. As their relationship grows, Peter finds the strength to make a comeback and compete in the prestigious Wimbledon tournament. Along the way, they must contend with the pressures of the competition, the media, and their own insecurities. The film is a lighthearted look at the world of professional tennis, and a charming love story between two people who are determined to make the most out of their lives.
