Synopsis – What to Expect from “Wildcats”
Wildcats is a 1986 American sports comedy-drama film starring Goldie Hawn, Wesley Snipes, and Woody Harrelson. It follows Molly McGrath (Hawn), an idealistic teacher and former high school cheerleader, as she takes on the challenge of coaching an inner-city high school football team.
Molly is a dedicated teacher who is determined to make a difference in her students’ lives. She takes a job at a tough inner-city high school in Los Angeles, where she is the only female teacher in the school. She is assigned to coach the football team, despite having no experience in the sport.
Molly faces many obstacles in her quest to turn the team into a winning one. The team is composed of a ragtag group of players, many of whom have had run-ins with the law. She must also contend with the school’s principal, who is unsupportive of her efforts and does not believe she can succeed.
Despite her inexperience, Molly is determined to show her students that they can succeed if they work hard and believe in themselves. She slowly begins to gain the team’s respect and trust, and starts to teach them the basics of the game.
