However, John is not truly interested in her, and is only using her to satisfy his own needs.
Katya soon finds herself in a dangerous situation when John’s wife discovers her presence in the home. She is forced to flee, and finds refuge with a kind-hearted streetwalker, named Maria (Kelly Lynch). Maria helps Katya to start a new life, and the two become close friends.
Katya eventually discovers that she is pregnant with John’s child, and decides to keep the baby. She is determined to make a better life for herself and her unborn child, but is faced with the harsh realities of poverty and the dangers of living on the streets.
