Synopsis – What to Expect from “White Christmas”
White Christmas is a classic 1954 musical romantic comedy directed by Michael Curtiz and starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera-Ellen.
The film follows two World War II army buddies, Bob Wallace (Crosby) and Phil Davis (Kaye), who have become successful entertainers. They are invited to a Christmas show at a Vermont lodge owned by their former commanding officer, General Waverly (Dean Jagger).
At the lodge, Bob and Phil meet the Haynes sisters, Betty (Clooney) and Judy (Vera-Ellen). The sisters are also performers and they are putting on a show at the lodge. When the show fails to draw an audience, Bob and Phil come up with a plan to save the show by bringing in a group of soldiers from the General’s old army division.
Meanwhile, Bob and Phil find themselves falling for the Haynes sisters, and they soon discover that the General is in financial trouble and is in danger of losing the lodge. So Bob and Phil come up with a plan to save the lodge by putting on a big show featuring all of their army buddies.
The show is a huge success and the lodge is saved. Bob and Phil also find themselves happily in love with the Haynes sisters. On Christmas morning, the four of them share a white Christmas together, singing the iconic title song.
