Synopsis – What to Expect from “When a Stranger Calls”
When a Stranger Calls is a 1979 American horror film directed by Fred Walton and starring Carol Kane and Charles Durning.
The movie follows Jill Johnson (Carol Kane), a teenage babysitter who is left alone in a large suburban house to look after two children. As the night progresses, she receives a series of increasingly disturbing phone calls from a strange man who claims to be inside the house. Initially scared, Jill eventually comes to the conclusion that the calls are coming from inside the house.
As the night wears on, the calls become more menacing and Jill begins to fear for her life. She eventually discovers that the caller is a psychopathic killer who has escaped from a mental institution and is now stalking her.
Jill must now use her wits and courage to survive the night and protect the children in her care. With the help of the police, she is able to outwit the killer and escape with her life.
