Synopsis – What to Expect from “What’s New Pussycat?”
What’s New Pussycat? is a 1965 romantic comedy directed by Clive Donner and written by Woody Allen. The film stars Peter O’Toole, Peter Sellers, Romy Schneider, Paula Prentiss, and Ursula Andress.
The film follows the misadventures of Michael James (O’Toole), a womanizing playboy who is trying to break his womanizing ways. He is in love with Carole (Prentiss), a beautiful and intelligent woman who is looking for a more serious relationship. Michael’s friend Victor (Sellers) is a psychiatrist who is trying to help Michael break his womanizing ways.
Meanwhile, Michael’s ex-girlfriends, the seductive Suzette (Schneider) and the wealthy and sophisticated Renée (Andress), are both vying for Michael’s attention. They both have their own plans to win Michael back, and they both enlist Victor’s help.
Michael’s attempts to break his womanizing ways are met with mixed results, as he finds himself drawn to both Suzette and Renée. While Michael is trying to figure out which woman he loves more, he is also trying to keep his friendship with Victor strong.
The film culminates in a hilarious and chaotic climax that involves a series of misunderstandings and mistaken identities. In the end, Michael is forced to make a difficult decision between the two women and his friendship with Victor.
