Synopsis – What to Expect from “What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?”
What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? is a classic psychological thriller released in 1962. It follows the story of two sisters, Baby Jane Hudson and Blanche Hudson, who live together in a decaying Hollywood mansion.
The film opens with the two sisters in their youth, Baby Jane a child star and Blanche a successful actress. As the years pass, their fortunes reverse. Blanche is left paralyzed from the waist down in a mysterious car accident, while Baby Jane’s career fizzles out.
As the years pass, Baby Jane grows increasingly resentful of her sister’s success and begins to take out her frustrations on Blanche. She begins to torment and abuse her, refusing to take care of her and even trying to kill her.
The film culminates with a dramatic confrontation between the two sisters. Baby Jane is determined to kill her sister, while Blanche is determined to survive. In the end, Baby Jane is taken away by the police, but not before Blanche is able to reveal the truth about the car accident that left her paralyzed.
The film ends with Baby Jane being sent away to a mental institution, while Blanche is left to live out her days in the mansion, alone but content.
