Synopsis/Plot
Watership Down is a 1978 British animated adventure-drama film directed by Martin Rosen and based on the 1972 novel of the same name by Richard Adams. The film follows a group of wild rabbits who must flee their warren in search of a new home when their home is destroyed by humans. Led by a brave and resourceful rabbit named Hazel, the group of rabbits face a variety of challenges and dangers as they make their way across the English countryside in search of a new home. Along the way, they encounter a variety of creatures, both friendly and hostile, and must rely on their wits and courage to survive.
The film features the voices of John Hurt, Richard Briers, Denholm Elliott, and Michael Hordern as the main characters. The animation was done by a team of British animators, including Richard Williams, who won an Academy Award for his work on the film. The film’s music was composed by the British composer Angela Morley.
