Synopsis/Plot
Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps is a 2010 American drama film directed by Oliver Stone, a sequel to his 1987 film Wall Street. The film stars Michael Douglas, Shia LaBeouf, Josh Brolin, Carey Mulligan, Frank Langella, Susan Sarandon, and Eli Wallach.
The film follows the story of Gordon Gekko (Douglas), a former corporate raider, who is released from prison after serving eight years for insider trading and other financial crimes. Upon his release, Gekko finds himself on the outside of a rapidly changing Wall Street world. He is determined to rebuild his empire and to win back the trust and respect of his estranged daughter, Winnie (Mulligan).
Gekko teams up with Jacob Moore (LaBeouf), a young, ambitious trader who is engaged to Winnie. Together, they attempt to take down the ruthless banker Bretton James (Brolin), who is responsible for the destruction of Jacob’s mentor, Louis Zabel (Langella). As Gekko and Jacob battle against James and his powerful allies, they must also confront their own demons in order to survive.
