Synopsis/Plot
Wait Until Dark is a 1967 psychological thriller directed by Terence Young and starring Audrey Hepburn, Alan Arkin, and Richard Crenna. The film follows Susy Hendrix, a blind woman, who is left alone in her New York City apartment when her husband Sam goes on a business trip. When three criminals arrive at her apartment, searching for a heroin-filled doll that was unknowingly brought to her by Sam, Susy must rely on her wits and intuition to survive the night.
The film begins with the introduction of Sam and Susy Hendrix, a couple living in Greenwich Village, New York City. Sam is away on a business trip and Susy is left alone in their apartment. Later that day, two men, Roat and Mike, arrive at the apartment and claim to be old friends of Sam’s. Susy is suspicious but allows them to stay. A third man, Carlino, joins them, and they quickly reveal their true intentions: they are searching for a doll that contains a large amount of heroin. Unbeknownst to Susy, her husband had unknowingly brought the doll to their apartment.
