Synopsis – What to Expect from “Voyeur”
Voyeur is a 2017 psychological thriller that follows the story of a documentary filmmaker, Gay Talese, who sets out to uncover the truth behind a mysterious motel owner.
The film begins with Gay Talese (Jonathan Price) arriving at the motel owned by Gerald Foos (Tom Sizemore). Talese is intrigued by Foos’s secretive behavior and decides to investigate. He discovers that Foos has been secretly watching his guests from a hidden platform in the attic of the motel. Talese is shocked and begins to question Foos’s motivations.
Foos reveals to Talese that he has been observing his guests for years, in order to understand human behavior. He believes that by understanding people’s behavior, he can better understand himself. Talese is horrified by this revelation and begins to question Foos’s sanity.
Talese begins to document Foos’s activities and slowly learns more about Foos’s past. He discovers that Foos was once a respected member of the community, but his obsession with voyeurism has caused him to become a recluse. Talese also discovers that Foos has been manipulating the guests in order to control their behavior.
Talese is torn between his duty to expose Foos’s crimes and his growing sympathy for the man. He is also struggling to reconcile his own moral values with Foos’s actions. In the
