Synopsis/Plot
Volcano is a 1997 disaster film directed by Mick Jackson and starring Tommy Lee Jones, Anne Heche, and Gaby Hoffmann. The film follows the story of Mike Roark, the head of the Los Angeles County Office of Emergency Management, as he tries to save the city from an erupting volcano that has been dormant for centuries.
The film begins with a series of minor earthquakes, which are being monitored by seismologists. However, when a large earthquake hits, the seismologists realize that it is coming from the La Brea Tar Pits, an area that was once an active volcano. Mike Roark is called in to investigate, and he soon discovers that the volcano is becoming active again and is about to erupt.
With the help of his team, Roark sets out to save the city from the impending disaster. He works with the mayor, the governor, and the USGS to come up with a plan to evacuate the city and to contain the lava flow. However, the volcano continues to erupt and soon the city is in danger of being destroyed. Roark and his team must race against time to save the city and its citizens.
Volcano is an action-packed and thrilling disaster film
