Synopsis – What to Expect from “Viva Las Vegas”
Viva Las Vegas is a classic romantic comedy musical starring Elvis Presley and Ann-Margret. The movie follows Lucky Jackson (Elvis Presley), a race car driver who dreams of winning the Las Vegas Grand Prix. He arrives in Las Vegas with his mechanic, Danny, and enters the race to win the prize money so he can buy a new engine for his race car.
When he arrives in Vegas, Lucky meets Rusty Martin (Ann-Margret), a swimming instructor and showgirl. Lucky is instantly smitten with her and is determined to win the race so he can impress her. But his plans are thrown off course when he discovers that his race car is missing.
Desperate to get the money to buy a new engine, Lucky takes a job as a waiter at the hotel where Rusty is staying. He is constantly trying to impress her, but she is unimpressed by his attempts. However, Lucky eventually wins her over with his charm and they fall in love.
Meanwhile, Lucky’s rival in the race, Count Elmo Mancini, is determined to win the race and will do anything to make sure he does. He sabotages Lucky’s car and tries to bribe Rusty to make sure Lucky loses. But Lucky and Rusty manage to outsmart Elmo and Lucky wins the race. With the prize money, Lucky buys a new engine for his car and he and Rusty live happily ever after.
