Synopsis/Plot
Velvet Buzzsaw is a 2019 horror-thriller film written and directed by Dan Gilroy. The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Rene Russo, Toni Collette, John Malkovich, Zawe Ashton, Tom Sturridge, Natalia Dyer, Daveed Diggs, and Billy Magnussen.
The film follows the story of a powerful art critic, Morf Vandewalt (Gyllenhaal), and his ambitious assistant, Josephina (Ashton). After Josephina discovers a collection of artwork created by an unknown artist, she brings it to the attention of Morf and the art world. As the art gains popularity, it is soon revealed to be cursed and those who possess it are met with a deadly fate. As the mysterious deaths begin to pile up, Morf and Josephina must uncover the secret of the cursed artwork before it is too late.
