Synopsis – What to Expect from “Untraceable”
Untraceable is a 2008 American crime thriller film directed by Gregory Hoblit and starring Diane Lane, Billy Burke, and Colin Hanks.
The film follows FBI Special Agent Jennifer Marsh (Lane), who is assigned to investigate a series of murders that have been broadcast over the Internet. The killer, known as the “Internet Killer”, has set up a website that allows viewers to watch the murders live, with the number of viewers determining how long the victims will survive.
The film opens with the murder of a young woman, broadcast live on the Internet. Marsh and her partner Griffin Dowd (Hanks) investigate the crime and soon discover that the killer is using the website to challenge the authorities. As the investigation progresses, Marsh discovers that the killer is targeting people who are vulnerable and who have no one to miss them.
Marsh and Dowd enlist the help of a computer expert, Eric Box (Burke), to try to trace the killer’s identity. Meanwhile, the killer becomes increasingly brazen, and the body count rises. As Marsh and her team race to unmask the killer, they realize that he is one step ahead of them and that the only way to stop him is to make him untraceable.
The film culminates in a thrilling climax as Marsh and her team battle to bring the killer to justice and save the lives of his next victims. In the end, Marsh is able to trace the killer’s identity, but not before
