Synopsis – What to Expect from “Untouchable”
Untouchable is a 2019 American drama film directed by Michael Cooney, starring Bryan Cranston, Nicole Kidman, and Garrett Hedlund.
The film follows the story of Phillip Lacasse (Bryan Cranston), a wealthy quadriplegic who was paralyzed in a hang-gliding accident. After his accident, Phillip hires Dell (Garrett Hedlund), a recently released convict, to be his caretaker. Initially, Dell is hesitant to take on the job, but Phillip’s generous salary and the chance to start a new life are too tempting to pass up.
At first, Dell is a bit uncomfortable around Phillip, but over time, the two form a strong bond and Dell becomes an invaluable part of Phillip’s life. He helps Phillip with his daily needs, from getting dressed to helping him with his physical therapy. Dell also provides Phillip with companionship, something that he had been missing since his accident.
As their relationship grows, Phillip and Dell begin to rely on each other more and more. Phillip helps Dell to get his life back on track, while Dell provides Phillip with a sense of purpose and a renewed sense of self-worth.
However, their newfound friendship is threatened when Phillip’s family begins to suspect that Dell is taking advantage of him. They hire a private investigator to look into Dell’s past and soon discover his criminal history, which casts doubt on his sincerity.
