Synopsis – What to Expect from “Unicorn Store”
Unicorn Store is a 2017 comedy-drama film directed by Brie Larson. The film follows Kit, a twenty-something dreamer played by Larson, who receives an invitation to a store that promises to make her childhood dreams come true.
Kit is a young artist who has recently moved back home to live with her parents after dropping out of art school. She is struggling to find her place in the world and is desperate for something to give her life purpose. When she receives an invitation to a mysterious store, she is intrigued and decides to take a chance.
At the store, Kit meets the eccentric and enigmatic Salesman, played by Samuel L. Jackson. He tells her that if she completes a few tasks, he will grant her a wish. He gives her a magical unicorn figurine, which she must care for and nurture in order to prove her worthiness.
Kit takes the challenge and begins caring for her new pet. She starts to open up to her family and friends, and finds a sense of purpose in her life. As she continues to care for her pet, she discovers that the Salesman has a hidden agenda.
Kit must decide whether to trust the Salesman or to follow her heart and pursue her own dreams. Along the way, she learns to embrace her own uniqueness and find her place in the world.
