Synopsis – What to Expect from “Undercover”
Undercover is a 1995 action-comedy film starring Eddie Murphy and directed by John Landis.
The movie follows the story of Kevin Pope (Eddie Murphy), a street-smart cop who is tasked with infiltrating a drug ring in order to bring down its leader, a notorious drug kingpin known as “The Iceman” (Robert De Niro). Pope goes undercover as a smooth-talking con artist and quickly begins to make a name for himself in the criminal underworld.
Pope soon discovers that the Iceman is not only a powerful and ruthless criminal, but also a master manipulator who has a stranglehold on the city’s drug trade. As Pope gets deeper into the Iceman’s criminal network, he finds himself in increasingly dangerous situations and must rely on his wits and street smarts to survive.
Pope’s investigation takes a dramatic turn when he discovers that the Iceman is actually an undercover police officer named John Hatcher (also played by De Niro). Hatcher has been working undercover for years in an effort to bring down the drug ring and its leader, and Pope must decide whether to join forces with Hatcher or to continue his own investigation.
The movie follows Pope as he navigates his way through the criminal underworld, trying to uncover the truth about the Iceman and the drug ring while also trying to stay alive. Along the way, he must contend with the Iceman’s henchmen, corrupt cops
