Synopsis/Plot
Under the Tuscan Sun is a 2003 romantic comedy-drama film directed by Audrey Wells and starring Diane Lane. The film follows Frances Mayes, a recently divorced San Francisco writer who impulsively buys a villa in Tuscany on a trip to Italy.
Frances is initially overwhelmed by the challenges of renovating the villa, but eventually finds solace in the Tuscan countryside and begins to embrace the Italian culture and lifestyle. With the help of her friends, Frances embarks on a journey of self-discovery and learns to appreciate life and love again.
The film features stunning cinematography of the Tuscan countryside and is set to a beautiful score by the Italian composer, Andrea Morricone. As Frances slowly begins to restore the villa, she also begins to restore her life and discovers that life is an adventure that should be embraced.
