Synopsis/Plot
Twister is a 1996 action-adventure film directed by Jan de Bont and starring Helen Hunt, Bill Paxton, Cary Elwes, Jami Gertz, and Philip Seymour Hoffman. The film follows a group of storm chasers as they attempt to launch a revolutionary new device, known as Dorothy, into the eye of a tornado. The team, led by Dr. Jo Harding (Hunt) and her estranged husband, Bill (Paxton), must battle against time, the elements, and a rival team of storm chasers in order to launch Dorothy and collect data on the tornado.
The movie begins with Dr. Jo Harding and her team of storm chasers attempting to launch a device into the eye of a tornado. The device, known as Dorothy, is a revolutionary new way of collecting data on storms. However, the team is stopped by the arrival of Jo’s estranged husband, Bill, and his own team of storm chasers. Bill and Jo’s teams compete to be the first to launch Dorothy into the tornado, and the competition takes them on a wild ride across Oklahoma.
