Synopsis – What to Expect from “Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces”
Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces is a 2014 feature-length film directed by David Lynch and written by Lynch and Robert Engels. The film is a collection of deleted scenes from the television series Twin Peaks, originally released as part of the 1992 home video release Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me.
The film opens with FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) arriving in the small town of Twin Peaks, Washington, to investigate the murder of high school student Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee). He meets with Sheriff Harry S. Truman (Michael Ontkean) and Deputy Hawk (Michael Horse), and begins to unravel the mystery of Laura’s death.
The film follows Cooper as he interviews the townsfolk, including Laura’s parents Leland (Ray Wise) and Sarah (Grace Zabriskie), and her friends Donna (Lara Flynn Boyle) and James (James Marshall). He meets the strange and enigmatic Log Lady (Catherine Coulson), and is introduced to the supernatural forces that seem to be at work in the town.
Cooper also visits the mysterious “Red Room”, where he is confronted by the spirit of Laura Palmer and a mysterious figure known as “The Man From Another Place” (Michael J. Anderson). He also meets the mysterious and powerful “Bob” (Frank Silva), a spirit that seems to be connected to Laura’s death.
