Synopsis/Plot
Trippin’ with the Kandasamys is a South African comedy-drama film directed by Jayan Moodley and starring Jailoshini Naidoo, Maeshni Naicker, and Mishqah Parthiephal. The film follows the story of three generations of South African Indian women and their struggles to make peace with each other and their past.
The film follows the story of the Kandasamy family. The matriarch, Shanthi, is a traditionalist who is trying to keep her family together. Her daughter Prishen, is a successful businesswoman who is struggling to find balance between her work and her family. The youngest member of the family, Zanele, is a rebellious teenager who is struggling to find her place in the world.
When Prishen is forced to take a vacation, she invites her mother and daughter to join her in a road trip. During the trip, the three generations of women learn to open up and confront the issues that have been holding them back. Along the way, they also discover the beauty of South Africa and the importance of family.
